Fisher & Paykel Appliances Case Study
Fisher and Paykel conduct their global medical equipment manufacturing at a purpose built facility in New Zealand. The process takes place across three football stadium sized buildings housing over 25,000 assets including multi-million dollar scientific analysis and assembly equipment.
These assets are often in high demand, their inability to be sourced quickly affects productivity across all departments and accrues thousands of man hours. Goals:
–Locate equipment
–Reduce staff down time
–Identify asset waste
They required a Real Time Locating System (RTLS) solution to complete the locating process. Additional requirements included asset tags to suit various size equipment, some items less than 3mm thick, lasting more than 3 years on a single battery.
Through the use of our asset tags and gateways, we have provided a solution which monitors, locates and generated alerts based on asset activity which met and surpassed all of their requirements.
Asset tags were placed on each item which required tracking and gateways were installed throughout their office areas to enable tracking. With our end-to-end asset management system they have also automated their equipment auditing and save millions of dollars annually.
